Bluff Knoll and the south

By Tracy

Just back from Albany (where the much cooler days were a relief -- though still warm enough to swim) and the Great Southern.

On the journey south, we stopped in the Stirling Ranges and I took this snap of the top of Bluff Knoll, which is the highest peak in the Stirlings.

Tracy are you one of Darcy's daughters?

No -- who is Darcy?

Nice to meet you, anyway.

Darcy Ryan was an anthropology lecturer at UWA and had 3 daughters one of whom was named Tracy, the other 2 were Camilla and Amanda. I spent many pleasurable hours when I was way younger than I am now at their home.
Glad to have found your blog in the meantime and will follow with interest.

That's funny, because when I was at UWA back in the 1980s, tutors used to say to me, "I know your parents", and I always had to say to them, "No, that's the other Tracy Ryan..." I think she and I were studying there at the same time.

That sounds a possibility. I knew the family during the 70's and no idea what the girls got up to later on in life.
You guys sound like you are in land.
I am in Albany but Michelle and I are in the middle of building a house to move to in Denmark hopefully to be completed sometime this year. The surfing is better over there and Albany is rapidly turning into a noisy metropolis.

We noticed the "noisy metropolis" thing during our recent stay in Albany. We've been down every year, but this time around, the traffic in the town was nearly unbearable. Almost like taking a holiday in Perth! Yet the region itself is so beautiful...
